  • X (in the top right corner): Closes the modal without deleting.

Deleting Process

If you choose to delete the metadata:

  2. The metadata and all its associated information will be soft-deleted (hidden but not permanently removed from the database).

  3. The modal will close automatically.

  4. You'll return to the list of metadata.

  5. A success message will appear in the top right corner of the screen: "Metadata has been successfully deleted"

Canceling Deletion

If you decide not to delete the metadata:

  1. Click "Cancel" in the modal, or
  2. Click the "X" in the top right corner of the modal.
  3. The modal will close.
  4. You'll return to the list of metadata without any changes.

Important Notes

  • Deletion is a soft delete, preserving the metadata history.
  • Deleted metadata can potentially be restored by system administrators if needed.
  • Exercise caution when deleting metadata, as it may affect integrations or reporting.

Best Practices

  1. Review metadata carefully before deletion to ensure it's no longer needed.
  2. If unsure about the impact of deleting a piece of metadata, consult with your team or support before proceeding.
  3. Regularly review and clean up unnecessary metadata to keep your payment links organized.
  4. Consider updating metadata values instead of deleting and recreating if only minor changes are needed.

By following these steps, you can efficiently manage metadata for your payment links, including safe deletion of unnecessary entries while maintaining a historical record.
